Later: The Consul General heard that fighting began lest night,

July 2nd., Li being the aggressor. I went to Tong Sha at noon,

but could get no confirmation. It was said there that fighting

began yesterday at Tsing Yun, which is far from the Yün Tam

front, and that fighting at Tun Tan had begun this morning st

about 5 a.m., it being unknown which side was the aggressor.
